General Information:

The Department of Conferences organizes and provides technical services for conferences of the Islamic summit, the Council of Foreign Ministers, sectoral ministerial conferences and other meetings held in the OIC General Secretariat. Structurally, the Department of Conferences is under the Cabinet of the Secretary General and has the following organizational structure:

 

Activities:

The Department of Conferences provides technical services for Islamic Summit, Council of Foreign Ministers and sectoral ministerial meetings. In 2022, the 48th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers was held in Islamabad (March 2022); the 11th session of the Islamic Conference of Tourism Ministers was held in Baku (June 2022) and the 5th session of the Islamic Conference of Youth and Sport Ministers was held in Jeddah (June 2022). In  2023, the forty-ninth session of the Council of Foreign Ministers was held in Nouakchott. Preparations are underway to hold the fifteenth session of the Islamic Summit in Banjul, Republic of The Gambia, in December 2023.The Department also provides technical services for all meetings held at the OIC General Secretariat headquarters.
