Saudi Ministry of Interior launches smart gates at Neom Bay Airport
NEOM (UNA/SPA) – The Saudi Ministry of Interior launched today the “Smart Gates” project at NEOM Bay Airport, in the presence of Prince Dr. Bandar bin Abdullah bin Mishari, Assistant Minister of Interior for Technology Affairs, Dr. Abdullah bin Sharaf Al-Ghamdi, President of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), Lieutenant General Suleiman bin Abdulaziz Al-Yahya, Director General of Passports, Dr. Essam bin Abdullah Al-Waqit, Director of the National Information Center at SDAIA, and Eng. Nazmi Al-Nasr, CEO of NEOM. The “Smart Gates” project, which is being implemented by the General Directorate of Passports, the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) and NEOM, aims to facilitate and accelerate the procedures of travelers by reading their biometrics.
This step comes as part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s efforts to enhance the quality of life by providing highly efficient digital solutions in Saudi cities.
