It includes 12 luxury tourist destinations.. NEOM announces the global “Maqna” project on the coast of the Gulf of Aqaba
NEOM (UNA/SPA) – NEOM’s Board of Directors announced the “Maqna” project, NEOM’s coastal luxury tourism area on the coast of the Gulf of Aqaba, which represents a qualitative addition to the portfolio of pioneering and sustainable tourism projects being developed in NEOM.
The project includes 12 main destinations, namely: “Lega”, “Epicon”, “Serana”, “Otamo”, “Norlana”, “Aquilim”, “Zardon”, “Zinur”, “Alanan”, “Qidori”, “Triam”, and “Jamur”.
With its unique location, environmental diversity, and innovative model, “Maqna” embodies a global destination for natural tourism, supporting the national tourism strategy, and contributing to achieving the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which aims to drive growth and economic diversification, and reflects the progress and acceleration of construction and development work in NEOM.
“The pioneering coastal project ‘Maqna’ in NEOM is a treasure trove of nature, with an environmental diversity that enables us to offer unprecedented experiences in sustainable natural tourism, in line with our three pillars of creating new concepts for living, business and preserving nature,” said NEOM CEO Eng. Nazmi Al-Nasr. “Maqna will not be just a new tourist site, but a group of coastal destinations with unique experiences for lovers of entertainment, exploration, innovation and the arts.”
Maqna is distinguished by its exceptional tourist experiences, designed according to the highest standards of sustainability and environmental conservation, as its destinations highlight the natural diversity of the Kingdom, and raise the level of quality of life through its facilities and designs that combine the best architectural innovations, advanced technologies and exceptional experiences, contributing to strengthening the Kingdom’s position as a leading global tourist destination.
With its diverse destinations extending over 120 kilometers, “Maqna” will set a new global standard in the world of luxury natural tourism, as it will be developed to be enhanced with the latest advanced technologies, and will feature world-class engineering designs and advanced modern facilities, all of which blend with the surrounding natural environment, and provide a series of unique experiences in hospitality and entertainment.
“Maqna” will also include 15 luxury hotels, including more than 1,600 rooms, suites and hotel apartments, accommodating more than 300,000 hotel guests annually, in addition to more than 2,500 upscale residential units. Each destination in “Maqna” is distinguished by its characteristics and experiences that differ from the other in terms of the services, activities and experiences that it will provide to residents and guests, while these destinations integrate seamlessly to form a single identity that works to achieve the commitment to NEOM’s vision by preserving biodiversity and the surrounding nature, and rehabilitating them.
The 12 destinations of “Maqna” will act as a catalyst for economic activity in the Kingdom, by providing 15,000 jobs in the tourism, entertainment and hospitality sectors.
